Leading Ebony House Into a New Chapter of Hope, Recovery, and Community Service

Sheena Jones serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Ebony House, Inc., leading the organization into a new chapter of service, growth, and renewed commitment to the Phoenix community.
For Sheena, returning Ebony House to active service is more than a professional responsibility—it is personal.
Sheena was raised in South Phoenix, the same community where Ebony House began its mission more than 50 years ago. Growing up in this area, she understood the importance of having organizations that provide support, hope, and resources to individuals and families facing some of life’s greatest challenges.
Her connection to behavioral health and recovery began through her own family. Sheena’s mother experienced substance use challenges but found recovery and maintained sobriety for more than 30 years. Her mother’s journey became an example of strength, resilience, and the belief that people can overcome difficult circumstances with the right support.
Before starting her own treatment program, Sheena’s mother worked at Ebony House, where she contributed to the organization’s mission of helping individuals impacted by substance use. She later founded The Potter’s House Substance Abuse Center, an outpatient treatment center that served individuals and families in the community for 17 years.
Sheena had the privilege of working alongside her mother at The Potter’s House for approximately 15 years. During that time, she witnessed firsthand how behavioral health services can change lives. She saw individuals enter treatment during some of their most difficult moments and leave with hope, stability, and a renewed sense of purpose.
That experience shaped Sheena’s understanding that recovery is not just about one person—it impacts families, relationships, and entire communities. It also strengthened her commitment to ensuring individuals and families have access to compassionate, quality behavioral health services.
Professionally, Sheena brings more than 17 years of leadership experience in healthcare administration, behavioral health operations, compliance, program development, and community-based services. She holds a Master of Human Resource Management and a Bachelor of Arts in Business.
Throughout her career, Sheena has focused on strengthening healthcare organizations, developing sustainable programs, improving operational systems, navigating regulatory requirements, and building partnerships that expand access to care.
As CEO of Ebony House, Sheena is focused on honoring the organization’s more than 50-year legacy while building a strong and sustainable future. Her priorities include restoring trust, strengthening community relationships, providing quality behavioral health services, and ensuring Ebony House continues to be a place where individuals and families feel welcomed, supported, and respected.
“Ebony House has always been about people—about meeting individuals and families where they are and helping them find hope and healing. I want Ebony House to be known as an organization that people can trust, one that honors its history while continuing to evolve to meet the needs of the community.”
Sheena believes the reopening of Ebony House represents more than the return of an organization—it represents resilience, renewal, and a continued commitment to serving generations of individuals and families throughout the Phoenix community.
