Raising Kids that Create Value in the World
When Black Mothers Forum endeavored nearly 9 years ago to “end the school to prison pipeline, promote healthy mindsets and healthy relationships” we quickly realized that once we created School to Purpose Academies Microschools to help end the school to prison pipeline, we needed to be intentional about creating a space where families could develop the healthy mindsets and relationships needed in order to break generational poverty. We have watched our microschool families’ conversations shift from despair to what they can do to create value within their households and communities.
We joined Dinner Table, an organization focused on value creation to help us provide our young families with the tools they needed not only to transform how their households operated, but the verbiage, methodology and tools they so desperately needed to develop their child’s intrinsic need to create value in the world in which they live.
