Born in Chicago, Illinois, and raised in Phoenix, Arizona, she was surrounded by music from an early age. Her father, William “Doc” Jones, a celebrated jazz musician and educator, played a pivotal role in nurturing her talent. Despite initially pursuing a corporate career after graduating from Spelman College, her passion for music ultimately led her to the stage.

Her journey took a significant turn when she relocated to New Orleans, Louisiana, a city known for its deep jazz roots. She refined her artistry and gained recognition there, performing alongside legendary musicians and headlining major jazz festivals worldwide.
