A Message From Councilman Kevin Robinson

February is Black History Month. Black History Month is an opportunity to reflect on the contributions of Black individuals throughout history, highlighting their impact on shaping modern society. The month encourages us to honor those who have fought against systemic injustice, from the Civil Rights Movement to modern-day activists.
Celebrating Black History Month is essential not just to commemorate the struggles and triumphs of the past, but to ensure that the stories and lessons of Black history are passed down to future generations.
Supporting Black-owned businesses, reading works by Black authors, and amplifying voices from within the community help to create a more inclusive and informed society. Above all, Black History Month should be seen as an opportunity for ongoing reflection and action, promoting equality, understanding, and respect year-round, not just during the month of February.
Black History is American History.
Thank you,
Kevin Robinson
City of Phoenix Councilman, District 6
