Archwood to Open The ARC, Host Black  Entrepreneurship Week During Black  Business Month 

Open house on Saturday, August 1, will launch a week of  programming for Arizona’s first Black Entrepreneurship Week, August  3–8. 

Archwood, a nonprofit organization dedicated to  expanding access to community resources and economic opportunity, will open The ARC  — the Archwood Resource Collaborative — on Saturday, August 1, during Black Business  Month. The new business and community resource center will serve entrepreneurs,  families, creatives, partners, and residents with space, tools, programming, and support  designed to strengthen community wellness and wealth-building. 

The ARC will feature a co-working space, podcast studio, conference room, on-site  printing, classrooms, and office space. Through year-round resources and educational  programming, Archwood will offer community-centered opportunities focused on wealth,  health, fitness, education, entrepreneurship, and other areas that support whole-person  and neighborhood growth. 

To celebrate the opening, Archwood will host a public open house on Saturday, August 1,  inviting interested members, entrepreneurs, partners, and community supporters to tour  the space, learn about upcoming programs, and explore partnership opportunities. 

“The ARC was created to be a collaborative hub where people can access resources, build  relationships, grow ideas, and create lasting impact,” said M Ali Nervis, Executive Director  of Archwood. “Opening during Black Business Month is especially meaningful because this  center reflects our commitment to supporting Black entrepreneurs, strengthening  community infrastructure, and creating pathways to generational opportunity.” 

Following the open house, Archwood will host Arizona’s first Black Entrepreneurship Week  from August 3 through August 8. The weeklong series will include networking events, panel  discussions, workshops, and a business pitch competition designed to connect  entrepreneurs with education, visibility, resources, and community support. 

Arizona Black Entrepreneurship Week programming will include:

• Networking events that connect entrepreneurs, professionals, funders, and  community partners 

• Panel discussions featuring business leaders, subject-matter experts, and  community voices 

• Workshops focused on business development, access to resources, financial  empowerment, and growth strategies 

• A business pitch competition highlighting emerging ideas and local entrepreneurial  talent 

Black Business Month is observed each August to recognize the contributions of Black owned businesses and entrepreneurs to economic growth, innovation, and community  advancement. Archwood’s launch of The ARC and Arizona Black Entrepreneurship Week  builds on that legacy by creating a dedicated space for learning, collaboration, and  opportunity. 

Community members, business owners, partners, and supporters are encouraged to  attend the August 1 open house and participate in Arizona Black Entrepreneurship Week  events. Additional event details, registration information, and partnership opportunities will  be available through Archwood.
