Fashion Meets Purpose: AfroFuture Fashion & Arts Show Celebrating Black Creativity while Investing in the Next Generation
Prepare for an evening where fashion, art, music, culture, and community come together for a meaningful cause. SARABO Fashion, in partnership with WeROC, proudly presents the AfroFuture Fashion & Arts Fundraiser, taking place Saturday, August 29, 2026, at the Igbo Community and Cultural Center.
The AfroFuture Fashion & Arts Fundraiser is a celebration of the creativity of the Black and African diaspora while raising funds to support the WeROC Freedom School and Ubuntu Leadership Academy. These educational programs provide young people with academically enriching, culturally grounded, and supportive learning environments where they can grow with confidence, develop leadership, and take pride in their identity and heritage.
Guests will experience a showcase of fashion collections from talented designers representing the Caribbean, the United States, and the African continent. The evening will also feature live performances by local artists and emerging young talent showcasing their artistic expression. Guests will enjoy exceptional cuisine prepared by one of Arizona’s most sought-after catering companies, featuring Swahili-inspired cuisine with a modern American fusion, offering a unique culinary journey that complements the evening’s cultural experience.
“This event is about much more than fashion,” said the organizers. “It is about investing in our children, celebrating our culture, supporting Black creatives, and bringing communities together around a shared vision of cultural pride.” “One example of community support is that of William “Doc” Jones, Founder of International Jazz Day pledging to be one of our title sponsors as he helps to make the event a success.”
Organized by SARABO Fashion, an African-inspired fashion and lifestyle brand, the event reflects the belief that fashion can be a powerful platform for education, identity, and community impact.
Working alongside WeROC, the event supports a broader mission to uplift Black and African communities through culturally relevant education, leadership development, and community engagement. WeROC is committed to creating enriching experiences that nurture identity, academic excellence, cultural pride, and collective responsibility while preparing young people to become confident leaders and engaged citizens.
