VOTE LIKE YOU ARE BEING JUDGED

July 21, 2026, is primary voting day, and many voters have no idea that judges are elected to office. Your local Justice of the Peace is elected every four years. Maricopa County currently has 26 Justices of the Peace, half of whom are presently running for office. The Maricopa County Supreme Court also votes for judicial retention each campaign season.

This is your opportunity to have your voice heard regarding one of the 3 branches of government.  Most voters understand that there are three branches of government: the judicial branch (judges), the executive branch (the president), and the legislative branch (Congress & Senate). People readily vote in presidential elections, but few vote in midterms.
Don’t sleep on the midterms; local politics are affected when you rest.

It may take some due diligence if you are seeking information on your local judges,
To help you prepare for the primary elections, you may research the candidates through the following resources:

  – Maricopa County Courts website
  – Maricopa County Elections Department
  – Ballotpedia
  – AZ Judge Watch
  – Your local legislative district

Consider your voter registration as your “opening argument”. Consider your vote as your “closing argument”.
