Supreme Court Reaffirms the Constitution and Protects Birthright Citizenship Court rejects attempt to redefine American citizenship through executive action.

Phoenix, AZ – Today’s Supreme Court ruling reassures that the Constitution’s clear language and legal precedent protect birthright citizenship, reinforcing trust in the legal system while reaffirming a fundamental constitutional principle that has defined the United States for more than 150 years: citizenship is guaranteed by the Constitution, not by the president.

Trump’s executive order, signed on January 20, 2025, aimed to deny citizenship to certain children born in the U.S. by instructing federal agencies to withhold recognition of their citizenship, conflicting with the Constitution and longstanding legal precedents.

Today’s ruling makes it clear that no president can unilaterally change the Constitution or decide who qualifies for American citizenship, reinforcing the rule of law.

We extend our sincere gratitude to Justices Sotomayor, Kagan, Barrett, Jackson, and Chief Justice Roberts for faithfully upholding the Constitution and validating the enduring promise of the Fourteenth Amendment.
