Inaugural “Black History Seminar for Adults” 

GEORGE WASHINGTON CARVER MUSEUM AND CULTURAL CENTER (THE CARVER)  Announces Inaugural “Black History Seminar for Adults” 

The George Washington Carver Museum and Cultural Center (The Carver) is proud to announce and  invite you to our inaugural “Black History Seminar for Adults.” Join us for this free, six-week educational journey, designed specifically for adults, with a special emphasis on parents with children. Participants explore Black history from Ancient Egypt through to the modern era. The seminar will empower attendees by deepening their understanding of black heritage, resilience, and the diverse contributions of people of black African descent to world civilization. 

Each weekly session features presentations by leading scholars and community experts. Participants all  engage interactively with museum resources. A special focus is placed on equipping parents with  historical insights and practical tools to support their children’s identity development, academic  achievement, and civic engagement. Join us to celebrate this Carver Centennial “100 Years Forward”  event.

ABOUT THE CARVER MUSEUM AND CULTURAL CENTER 

The George Washington Carver Museum and Cultural Center is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and a national historic site dedicated to the collection, documentation, preservation, study, and dissemination of the history and culture of African Americans in Arizona and the American West. Our mission is to honor and share African American heritage, arts, and culture through exhibitions, archives, and community education programs designed to explore the role of African Americans in shaping Arizona’s history. The Carver will celebrate its centennial year in 2026, and this event will help launch a year of centennial activities.
