BASE Arizona Receives Generous Donation of Desktop Computers from Arizona Financial Credit Union and Ujima EEG

Phoenix, AZ – January 17, 2025

BASE Arizona is thrilled to announce the receipt of 25 desktop computers generously donated by Arizona Financial Credit Union (AZFCU) and their Ujima Employee Engagement Group (EEG). These computers will be housed at FIBCO Family Services Inc., located within the First Institutional Baptist Church (FIBC), to further empower the community through technology access and skill development.

This collaboration between BASE Arizona, FIBCO Family Services Inc., and AZFCU will strengthen FIBCO’s mission of facilitating independence by building comprehensive opportunities for underserved populations. The computers will serve the African Congregation at FIBC, senior citizens, and other community members in need, offering resources to develop essential technology skills for career readiness and personal advancement.

“We are deeply grateful to Arizona Financial Credit Union and their Ujima EEG for this incredible donation,” said Keasha Beach, Executive Director of BASE Arizona. “These computers will not only support our Afro Scouts Programs and Youth STEM initiatives but also create opportunities for community members to excel in resume writing, career readiness, language learning, and so much more. Together with FIBCO, we are creating pathways for independence and success.”

The new computer lab will provide vital tools for the community, enhancing efforts to foster digital literacy, career development, and lifelong learning. Youth in the Afro Scouts Programs will particularly benefit through STEM programming and other educational initiatives aimed at inspiring leadership and innovation among young people.

“This donation is a pivotal step in advancing our work at FIBCO Family Services Inc.,” shared Akilah Stewart, Executive Director of FIBCO Family Services Inc. “By providing access to modern technology, we are not only supporting the senior population and African Congregation but also empowering individuals to achieve greater self-sufficiency. Partnerships like this one demonstrate the incredible impact we can have when we work together for the good of the community.”

The partnership between BASE Arizona, FIBCO Family Services Inc., and AZFCU exemplifies a shared commitment to building a brighter future. This donation marks a significant milestone in the ongoing effort to uplift underserved communities through education, access, and collaboration.
