Grassrootz Books and Juice Bar, a community-centered space dedicated to culture, education, health and entrepreneurship, announces a powerful community collaboration with Add On Smoothies a Tempe based juice & smoothie bar and raw plant-based restaurant, who officially took over the Grassrootz Bookstore kitchen at the beginning of January. Add-On Smoothies recently lost their location when their lease was not renewed at their Tempe location. They are currently fundraising to secure a new location.
This collaboration brings together two community-driven brands committed to wellness, creativity, and collective growth. During the kitchen takeover, Add On Smoothies will offer a curated menu of fresh, nourishing smoothies and wellness-forward options, transforming the Grassrootz kitchen into a hub for health, conversation, and connection.
The takeover reflects a shared mission between Grassrootz Bookstore and Add On Smoothies: to create accessible spaces that nourish both the body and the mind while supporting local Black-owned businesses. Customers can expect intentional ingredients, bold flavors, and a welcoming atmosphere that aligns with Grassrootz’s role as a cultural gathering place.

The Add On Smoothies Kitchen Takeover will run during January and February at Grassrootz Bookstore, located at 1145 E Washington St in Phoenix. The collaboration will include daily smoothie offerings, special features, and potential community pop-ups throughout the month.
